For this property, Irwin Landscaping worked alongside the construction company throughout the project to help bring the complete outdoor vision to life.

While the home and site improvements were taking shape, Irwin handled the planting across the property and contributed several of the landscape’s defining structural elements, including boulders, stone steps and pathways. By coordinating with the construction team, the landscape was able to develop as part of the overall project rather than being treated as an afterthought.

Creating a Memorable Arrival

One of the most important features of the property is the circular driveway.

Rather than leaving the center as a simple lawn or decorative island, Irwin transformed it into a native planting area that establishes the character of the property immediately. The garden creates a strong first impression while introducing the natural, layered planting style that continues throughout the landscape.

Custom-sourced stone steps form a walkway through the center of the planting. The stone was selected specifically for the project, helping the path feel substantial, timeless and connected to the architecture of the home.

A Native Meadow That Brings the Property to Life

A native meadow was incorporated to add movement, seasonal interest and habitat value.

One of the property’s most distinctive details is a specially sourced pear tree grafted to produce two different varieties of pears.

Rather than selecting a standard tree from a local inventory, Irwin worked with a specialist to source and bring in a tree that added both function and character to the landscape.

The tree provides seasonal interest, edible fruit and a memorable story unique to the property. It is a small example of Irwin’s broader approach: when the right element cannot be found through conventional sources, the team is willing to look farther to find something that fits the client’s vision.
