Peter's connection to landscape design began long before Irwin Landscaping. After earning his degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia, he returned to Delaware and began his career designing both commercial and residential landscapes. Nearly four decades ago, he founded Irwin Landscaping and began building the company around the work he enjoyed most — collaborating directly with homeowners. From expansive outdoor living spaces to quiet gardens designed simply to be enjoyed, Peter approaches each property by first understanding the people who live there. His greatest satisfaction still comes at the end of a project, when the design becomes more than a landscape and begins to feel like part of someone's home.

Matt brings a strong appreciation for gardens, plants and the outdoors to his work at Irwin Landscaping. His interest in how landscapes are shaped — from plant material and grading to hardscape and outdoor living spaces — informs an approach centered on creating properties that feel thoughtful, natural and individual to each client. Matt enjoys the possibilities that come from looking at a property as a whole and finding ways for each element to work together. For him, a successful landscape is one that feels effortless once it is complete — a space that fits the home, reflects the people who live there and simply makes spending time outside more enjoyable.
